Mobilising global talent to deliver niche funds expertise in Australia
Leveraging our worldwide network to meet urgent fund launch deadlines for a fast-growing investment bank.
The challenge
Our client's general counsel needed a funds formation specialist with experience across multiple asset classes. With Australia facing a significant shortage of funds management lawyers with formation expertise, this was a particularly difficult brief, compounded by tight deadlines for several imminent fund launches.
What we did
Peerpoint leveraged its global network to search both domestically and offshore, identifying a seasoned asset management lawyer returning to Australia from London. She brought deep expertise in multi-jurisdictional funds work, with a career spanning top-tier private practice and in-house roles at major investment managers. Although she needed to work fully remote from Brisbane, her credentials quickly won support from the client's Sydney-based stakeholders, and she was engaged on a two-month placement.
The outcome
The Peerpoint consultant exceeded expectations, helping launch several funds on time and building strong relationships across commercial and legal teams. The client extended the placement from two months to 12, and then by a further 18 months, and progressively expanded her responsibilities, demonstrating Peerpoint's ability to mobilise specialist legal talent at speed, even for niche briefs requiring fully remote arrangements.
