Supporting Monzo’s senior legal team

For nearly 12 months Peerpoint provided Monzo with a senior legal consultant who supported their business. The short case study below outlines our client’s challenge and how we delivered an effective resourcing solution.

The client

Monzo, one of the world’s leading digital banks. Employing over 2,000 people and boasting a customer base of over 5 million people, Monzo is at the forefront of revolutionising banking.

Their challenge

Monzo was looking for an Interim Head of Legal to provide short-term cover while permanent hiring took place. The role’s responsibilities also involved managing the legal and company secretary team while working with Monzo’s C-Suite until the new GC joined.

The Outcomes

After working with the departing Head of Legal and COO to understand their needs and those of the business, Peerpoint parachuted in a senior and trusted lawyer with previous experience at a number of banks as Head of Legal. With her experience of managing teams she provided Monzo with highly competent management and leadership skills while a new permanent hire was made.

A testament to her effectiveness, the consultant was extended to help on-board and embed the new GC once they had started. Through Peerpoint, Monzo also benefitted from additional support from the A&O network and the specialist support that A&O provides for Fintechs.
